QR Code Reader Privacy Policy

QR Code Reader decodes QR codes from webpage images selected by the user. The extension is designed to perform this work locally in the browser.

Data handled

When you explicitly choose Scan QR Code from an image's context menu, the extension temporarily handles the selected image, the text encoded in the QR code, and the current page only to run the local decoder and show the result message. This information may contain website content or other information you selected. It is processed locally on your device.

Collection, transmission, storage, and sharing

QR Code Reader does not collect, upload, transmit, sell, share, or retain the selected image or decoded QR content. It has no analytics, advertising, user account, tracking, or external service integration. All executable code, including the jsQR decoder, is packaged with the extension.

After a successful scan, the decoded content is written to the clipboard so you can paste it. The extension does not read existing clipboard content.

Context menus

Adds the user-invoked image scanning command.

Active tab

Temporarily accesses the current page only after the user chooses the command.

Scripting

Runs the packaged QR decoder and result message in that one tab on demand.

Clipboard write

Copies the decoded result after a successful scan.

Retention, deletion, and children

The extension does not retain user data, so there is no stored user data to access, correct, export, or delete. Clipboard content remains under your and your operating system's control. QR Code Reader is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

识别成功后，扩展会把结果写入剪贴板，方便你粘贴。扩展不会读取剪贴板中已有的内容。

数据保留、删除与儿童

扩展不会保留用户数据，因此不存在可供访问、更正、导出或删除的已存储用户数据。剪贴板内容由你和操作系统控制。二维码识别助手是通用工具，不会有意收集儿童或其他任何用户的个人信息。
